Raising the Bar

Gary Kasparov was the youngest ever World Chess Champion in 1985. He was rated world #1 almost continuously from 1986 until his retirement in 2005. He is arguably the greatest chess player in history.

Was Kasparov able to move his chess pieces differently than others? No. Did he play on a different chess board? No. Were there special rules allowed Gary that others were denied? No.

What made Gary Kasparov the best chess player was his command of strategy. He was able to recognize which strategies gave him the best probability of winning.

At TS Financial, Inc., we also think strategy is the key to consistent, positive returns. We have several different approaches to making money in the markets.

Our Gameplan...

Tactical Asset Management

We believe that there are a limited number of places that investors and institutions can put their money. By identifying where the money is flowing, our clients can capture returns in any market environment. By avoiding the areas where money is leaving, we can avoid major drawdowns and protect client assets. We do this in a systematic and analytical way.

The five primary asset classes we track are U.S. Stocks, Foreign Stocks, Real Estate, Commodities and Bonds. We then break each of these into sub-components for a more granular view. We use low cost indexes to make our portfolio more efficient and flexible.

Speculative

We devote a much smaller part of the portfolio to speculative, high-return trades. These are designed to provide a very large potential return, but with a small amount invested. This type of trade is appropriate around earnings announcements or big economic news. We may use individual stocks, concentrated indexes or leveraged funds for this portion of the portfolio.

Since we have a fiduciary duty to our clients, we do not take unnecessary risks. We have a specific process to generate profits while controlling risk. We do not deviate from our plan.
